Fight the Fat

You need to eat fat, and not the type thats in the bacon, as part of a healthy diet. You need to eat fat in order to get rid of fat just as much as you need to drink water to get rid of excess fluid floating around in your body. What you don't need to do however is to store extra fat. That is why, this week, I am giving you some suggestions of foods that will help you fight the fat in your body.

These foods fight fat in all different kinds of ways, are easy to incorporate in your daily diet, and some of them are surely already a favourite or regular of yours. 

Fat fighting foods:
Greek Yoghurt 
Quinoa (keen-wa) 
Apples 
Eggs 
Oats
Almonds (no salt)
Raw Vegetables (no surprise here)
Wild Salmon


Fat fighting beverages:
Green Tea
Black Coffee (no milk)

These should be easy enough for you to eat at least 3 times a week and some even every day. An apple and a handful (15) of almonds makes for a perfect snack.

Only Real Butter Thank You Very Much

Ever since I learned that real butter is good for the health of your bowels I have made it a regular in my daily diet. I am not talking about any half fat, less fat, this almost taste like butter varieties, but the real proper butter you buy wrapped in paper that mentions  nothing else but milk or cream and salt in the ingredients list. 

Butter not only have high anti-tumor effects and protects agains heart disease, but help you with weight control by providing the right composition of healthy fats, and if you are lucky enough to eat butter made from grass eating cows, it contains high levels of CLA (conjugated linoleum acid) which will help your body built muscles rather than store fat. 

And if this is not enough to convince you to eat butter I can tell you that the saturated fats in butter are crucial to lung function and the protection against asthma, that butter increase fertility, aids digestion, keeps your thyroid healthy, and can be a vital part of the diet for people suffering from arthritis and osteoporosis. Convinced yet?

I came over this quote a couple of days ago mentioned in a monthly newsletter from the studio where I practice Bikram Yoga - Hot Bikram Yoga: "The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition." - Thomas Edison. 

I believe this is one of the most sustainable methods forward. What do you think?
